It was a pleasant afternoon. Sure, individual Young Avengers may have had their own problems to deal with, but the group as a whole? Not so much. In fact, in the face of sudden threats, there's nothing to worry about. Its quiet and its peaceful.

But not for Robin's mind. He figures its necessary for his life, in some form or another, to learn how to kiss. So, he decides to approach the self-proclaimed 'world's best kisser', Koriandr. Of course, she might say no, but there he is, dressed in his regalia as a vigilante.

"Starfire, are you present?"

He knocks on the door to her room.

"I am present," Starfire confirms through the door. Inside, she is playing with Silkie, a game in which she takes its face in one hand, its tail(?) in the other, and stretches it out before letting it collapse back in on itself. It seems to consider this game fun or at least chiropractically beneficial, so Starfire is happy to continue playing it. "You may enter if you wish."

Robin enters the room, his cape enshrouding him but his hood being allowed to be let down, as it were, to reveal his face to her (minus the domino mask, which is still on him). He looks at Silkie, but pays little heed to it. After all, this is not their first meeting.

He lifts his head to look at Starfire once again. "I have a request to ask you. You once lauded yourself as the best kisser in the world. I find myself in need of your teachings."

Silkie shoves its head insistently into Starfire's palm, and clicks disapprovingly when she only pets it. She regards Damien approvingly. "It is wise you would seek instruction, but what is the circumstance that calls for it?" she asks. It's easy to focus on Robin because her room is very spare. Though spacious, there is simply a large, round bed in the center of the room, a nest for Silkie in one corner, no other furniture or adornments on the walls, and a pair of doors leading to a closet and a bathroom. The mural-sized windows have no curtains. The biggest distraction is the walls, a neon-pastel magenta color.

Robin nods very softly to Koriandr as she asks him why. "For the future. There is a young lady who I believe I find myself attracted to. I want to be pleasing if it comes to a point where kissing will be a guaranteed action." Robin says this like he's a machine and its a logical course of action. He notices the utter lack of furniture in the room, aside from the bed. But he keeps most of his attention on Starfire, despite her very loud-colored walls.

"If you are willing to teach me how to kiss and kiss properly."

Starfire nods and doesn't ask who the lady is. If he wanted her to know, he'd have said. She merely looks at him assessingly and decides, "It will be better if you sit on the bed with me, I think. It will lessen the height difference." She sounds a tad unsure of herself; receiving instruction and giving instruction are two different things, but she has a job to do, so she pats the bed beside her.

Nodding only once to Starfire at her instruction, it seems Robin either doesn't know the implication of getting into bed with Starfire or he's just not bothered by it. He takes a seat beside the taller woman. "I understand. I'm ready for instruction." He turns himself so he can face her directly. His eyes lock onto her own. His facemask might get in the way, but Damian doubts it.

"With your lack of understanding of how humans love, it will be best if you let her initiate the kiss." The irony of that statement is lost on Starfire. "But you can at least let her know you are receptive to being kissed. Touch me in a way you believe would invite affection," invites the glowing alien Amazon. She does not offer to teach Robin how to do it before making that offer; apparently, she considers failure a necessary part of the learning process.

Robin looks only a little surprised that -he- is the one with a lack of knowledge for human love. He knows -about- human love, he's only extremely inexperienced in feeling it for himself. "I understand." He hums for a moment, before Starfire tells him to touch her. Uncertain of how to proceed, but remembering the basics of socializing. Robin lifts his hand, caressing Starfire's cheek and moving some of her brilliant hair out of her face. The other hand seeks to settle on her thigh and gives a soft squeeze. Its not so much awkward as it is overly careful. He's paying attention too much to his actions and how they will affect Starfire. He doesn't like to fail, after all.

He scoots closer to her as well to make it all the more easier.

Starfire is a little surprised. That wasn't bad at all, the hair brush sending pleasant little bursts throughout her nerves, although… Well. She smiles encouragingly and says, "That was well done, but I would suggest you do not touch a human woman's leg. Your people's fear of intercourse seems to make you think the leg is an erogenous limb. Try putting your hand on or in hers, instead."

Her face is craned forward slightly, subtly ready to receive another caress, and her eyes are slightly narrowed with trusting relaxation. Those are good signs.

Damian notices that Starfire perhaps almost loses herself before she corrects him. Seems he's doing a good job. When told he shouldn't put his hand on a woman's leg, especially not like that, Damian lets his hand be removed from her leg and instead, he settles it gently in hers. his thumb rubs against her palm to tease its coming ever so gently, fingers attempt to entwine with hers. He's still a little nervous though, maybe even a bit tense.

Starfire letting her eyes half-close is a sign that, at least Starfire did, she liked it and so he performs it again, his knuckle leads the charge, starting to brush her cheek befor ethe rest of his finger trails along with it, smoothing along her cheek. He angles his face a little bit like he's ready to receive, if she cranes her head forward ever more.

The thumb is a wonderful place to feel a pulse, so Starfire is aware of Robin's excitement. It's odd to her but explicable; to him, kissing is not about pleasure or relaxation, but a deadly serious business involving a fear of rejection even in this controlled, safe environment. It's kind of cute, really, and she giggles a little to herself. "This is well done. Let her see your fear but also your courage. It will convince her to trust you." No kiss yet, though, even as she's leaning in, her alien scent apparent at this range as if riding the heat from her shining body.

Robin seems to smirk just a little bit at his success, but also because he can feel it now. He hasn't been in this situation before, so it doesn't strike quicker. She can feel him relax, a sign of the courage she spoke of, but also feel perhaps the pleasure of the excitement. It wasn't serious anymore to him, it was as natural as water rolling off of rock, or air maneuvering through a forest with the passing breeze. "I understand." He whispers to her just a bit, the hand that caresses her cheek lowers to touch the start of her neck, where it connects to her jaw. Teasing the flesh, fingers starting to truly feel the hair thats so unique it looks almost on fire with how red it is.

His offhand squeezes hers as that seems to be the most intimate embrace they've had thus yet…but he might cheat. He leans his own head forward, a willingness to keep it going as his eyes half-lid. She was warm. So warm it was like he was cozying up to the sun.

"Now," Starfire murmurs, in a voice that would sound more teacherly if she weren't, y'know, murmuring, "she will wish to return the gesture, to be sure of your intentions. You must react well to her. Perhaps she will feel warm, and she will hold you to share her warmth with you." Starfire demonstrates by laying a palm against Damian's cheek, not stroking (except for a little thumb rub), just looking into his eyes, smiling. This close, it's possible to make out the shadows of her pupils and irises through the glow of her eyes.

"Or perhaps she will feel playful." This is demonstrated by taking that tropically hot hand from Robin's cheek to trace the bridge of his nose with the tip of one finger, ending with a little boop at the bulb, which she giggles again at.

"Or perhaps she will feel sensual and wish to tease you." Her hand moves aside again, as if to cup Robin's cheek again, but instead sneaks past to tickle the outline of his ear, paying particular attention to his earlobe, stroking it so lightly it doesn't bend or shift under her touch. All the while, she's watching him carefully for his response.

Damian listens to her as she proceeds to instruct him. Touch him. He feels her warm touch on his cheek as she doesn't quite stroke, but allows their faces to come so close. So close that they could see so deeply into the windows of the soul. She smiles at him, then boops his nose. He looked confused at that part, but doesn't seem to -really- mind it.

At the implication of feeling sensual, the touch behind his ear doesn't tickle him, but it does seem to relax him, his eyes visibly having a slight glaze to them and he shivers when she reaches the more lower part of the curve of his ear. He seems to be responding well and favorably, all in all.

He is a fast learner, but it may just be the -way- that Kory touches him that he's letting himself be putty in her hands.

That relaxation, that moment of submission (not to her but to the moment) is what Starfire was waiting for. She leans in and kisses Robin, confidently but briefly all the same, lips gliding against his for less than a second before she retreats slightly, curious to see how he will respond.

Damian looks at Kory as she leans forward, all confident in her stride and kisses his lips. His lips arn't chapped or dry, they are well-amanged. His taste is like that of strawberries. Though her kis was so brief she might not've experienced it, Damian leans forward, then pauses, almost like he's being playful, but he's briefly remembering himself…then remembers he doesn't care. He leans forward right back to Kory, kissing her back if she allows, but like hers. Its short. Quick. Not taking too much yet. He presses his lips to hers for maybe a second and a half before he pulls away gentle and slow.

Starfire senses, with sadness, that urge to take, and draws back, eyes opening. "I did not like that second kiss. The woman you wish to kiss might, however. I do not fully know how to tell, since your people are so guarded with their emotions, but I am certain she would not tell you honestly, so I hope you will pay close attention to her feelings."

Damian feels Starfire pull away and open her eyes. "I'm sorry. Can we try that kiss again? I will follow your movements this time, let you set the pace." he seems to be determined to find every way to get it right, his free hand still holding hers, his mainhand still caressing her cheek.

Starfire thinks about it, then shakes her head and stands up, dislodging herself from Damian. She walks (not floats) over to Silkie's corner and picks him up, stroking his back. The act calms her. "I bear you no grudge for your action, but I am no longer desirous of kisses," she says, back still turned, sounding… not angry, not disappointed, just forlorn. Lonely. Even her glow seems more dim, but maybe that's because her mane is blocking so much of her skin. "You may ask another day for more instruction."

While Damian does not quite understand what exactly he did wrong, he simply shrugs and rises to his feet. "I appreciate the lesson." He doesn't bow, however, instead he does look a little worried. "Are you alright?" he asks her curiously.

Starfire turns from the corner, Silkie cradled to her bosom, eyes now dim enough it's possible to spot the outlines of her irises and the dark centers of her pupils. In a flat monotone, she explains, "Some men and women may find your greed for them flattering. I do not. It reminds me too much of a time when others took from me for their pleasure, and of how many people think a kiss is a way to gain pleasure rather than to give it." She regards Robin steadily as she speaks, not shy in the least about it.

Damian nods. "I apologize. I did not know you led a lifestyle like that against your will. I sought only to return what I was given." Damian's face though, is emotionless yet his words are sincere. "I will leave you now." He respects her decision and that he has wronged her, even if he knows a bit better -how- he wronged her. So, he lifts his hood back over his head and leaves without another word unless she stops him.

Starfire opens her mouth to call him back, then closes it. He doesn't need to leave on her behalf, but maybe he needs to leave on his own. Instead, she says, "I will see you when you wish to return," and lets him go.
