Reed can sometimes forget the more romantic sides of his relationship with his beautiful, intelligent, understanding wife. But, not tonight! They have a reservation at a french restaurant named Tres Fausse, and arrived on time for once. Nothing interrupting them on the way, no signals going off just as they say down. They're drinking glasses of champagne, waiting for their meal to arrive as they relax, listening to the soft music playing through the restuarant. Swirling his drink a little in his glass, Reed then takes a sip and smiles over at Susan. "Well. This is nice. It's good to go out now and then." They would of course go out (together) more often, if she was able to pry him out of his lab easier…

'Understanding' is a word that gets thrown Susan's way a lot; probably more often than most marriages can handle. Luckily for Reed, Susan's operating with an ongoing admiration of his intelligence, an adoration of his passion for all things science, love for her husband's caring nature, and - as it happens - the kind of bonds that a lifetime of adventure and danger tends to forge between people.

That said, Science is a tough mistress to compete with; but not an insurmountable one!

Probably helps that the reservations had already been set for awhile, though.

"C'est vrai!" She replies playfully, and smiles, "I told you so." She says before taking a sip of wine. She's wearing a nice royal blue frock with a white belt sinched around her waist and a hair of high heels; a simple beaded bracelet around her right wrist. "A little peace and quiet, a little time alone~. Good for the blood pressure."

Reed is wearing a light blue silk shirt and black slacks, a black dinner jacket over it. His hair is smoothed back. Not that it's ever not. He reaches out a hand, resting it over Susan's on the table. "I'm sorry I've been so distracted…well." His lips curl up wryly. "Since you met me. Have you gotten up to anything away from the tower?" He studies her blue eyes as he says that, rememorizing her face for the millionth time. There were probably people who wondered how they managed to stay together. It helped that they did genuinely love each other, a great deal.

Susan grins a little as Reed takes her hand. She's long past the 'blushing' phase of simple affectionate contact with her husband, but she still gets some of that 'butterflies' feeling which is a good sign! "Ohhh… sweetheart." she says sympathetically, putting her free hand on top of Reed's "I understand." She finishes, not for the first time or the last, then tilts her head with a bit of a wry look, "A girl can't compete with interdimensional space bugs." It's too new and crazy! But, as frustrating as it could be sometimes to have Reed get so distracted, science DID sorta bring them together. In a lot of ways. A lot of insane ways. Plus the 'get Reed's attention back' game could be fun.

"Well," She starts to reply to Reed's question, sitting back, setting her glass down, and crossing her legs, "Keeping Johnny out of trouble and looking after our tenants has kept me pretty busy." She frowns a little, "… I need to follow up on that woman who attacked Koriand'r."

Susan perks up a bit and clasps her hands together "Oh! Oh! But I forgot to tell you-" Susan can talk for miles once you get her started. She doesn't fly off the handle or anything, but she talks a good little while about the little things, the little interactions and minor averted disasters that come and go in life with a simple enthusiasm for the little parts of living that Susan's managed to keep more or less grounded to despite the bafflingly odd life she lives.

Though it finally occurs to her to poke at her food a bit, as she asks, "Ah, but anyway! Any luck with Johnny's visitors?"

Their relationship might be rocky at times. There might have been the occasional patch where one or the other temporarily stayed somewhere else. But, in the end they have a bond that can't really be broken. "Well, to be fair, it only looks similar to an arthropod. Ito doesn't actually fall into any known phylum that we're aware of here on Earth. I've been considering what to call its own peculiar classification." He tilts his head. "Hmmm. Which woman attacked Koriand'r? I think I might have missed that particular event." A pause. "Though I do need to check on the Young Avengers more often. Their energy consumption has been within my projections. I'm curious to see how their training is going, however. And whether their roster has changed much. I know that with some groups, it can be almost a monthly thing with people leaving and coming in." Then he listens carefully as she goes over the details of her life later, interjecting with comments and speculations here and there, occasionally making some comments about the various projects he's been working on as well. Then he smiles at her final question. "Well, about that…."
