"I love ta swing-a…in the sun-a and the moon-a and the spring-a…"
Yep, It's Spider-Man, swinging through the valleys of the skyscrapers, and is heading towards Chinatown. Some Chinese takeout from the Golden Dragon sounds like the best idea in the world, and right now nothing can…
A red dot appears two blocks away. "GANG INITIATION, TWO CIVILIANS, SIX SHENG TONG."

…Dangit. Duty calls, and it calls collect.
He changes his path and heads towards the waypoint.

What are the odds that Miles Morales would be in the same part of town at the same time as Peter Parker when trouble goes down? The city is huge, and yet there is Miles walking down the side of the street with the hood of his jacket pulled up over his head when he hears the reporting of the gang activity through the window of a nearby police cruiser. Miles glances around, looking for the officers to whom the car belongs and spies them through the window of the Golden Dragon, enjoying some of Peter's fried rice.

A smile spreads across Miles' features as he hurries into a nearby alley, long enough to pull his mask from the pocket of his jeans and to pull it over his head. Donning his gloves, he hurries out of the alley and then with the sling of a web, he is flying through the air as well, swinging on an intersecting path toward the way point that Peter is heading to.

The five older boys and the one younger one are facing the two intended victims, a young couple who one of the other Tong members had been interested in, AKA lusted for. And he was going to have a lot of fun here.
But the younger boy, Shin, wasn't having any fun. He only agreed to this because they made threats against his mother. He didn't want to hurt anyone, he just wanted to keep them safe. But this…he didn't think he could go through with this.
<Guys, I don't know about this,> Shin said uneasily.
Ricky Ling gave him that deadly look he used when he talked about how dangerous the streets were for his mom and sister. <Don't weaken now," he hissed.
"Guys?"
The voice came from above, and for a moment Shin wondered of there was a God after all, and He had sent an angel. But the guy crouching on the side of the wall (yes, the SIDE) didn't look like any angel. But when he recognized the mask, he figured him to be the next best thing.
"SPIDER-MAN!" Ricky snarled.
"Yep, that's me. So, how d'ya want to do this? We can just try to tal…"
Three men drew pistols.
…"AAAAAND the hard way, it is."

Three men drew pistols…
And then one of those pistols was rapidly jerked out of one of the men's hands by a sudden web that came not from Spider-man but…
From Spider-man? Maybe? If one were to follow the flash of silver as that gun is tugged they would see the trajectory lead toward Miles where he leans against the brick wall not too far away. He still wears the jacket that he had been wearing before, the hood pulled up over the black and red mask that he wears. His costume favors that of Peter in a fashion, though it is primarily black with red lines of webbing across it instead. He also still wears a pair of athletic shorts and some white high-top Nike basketball shorts. "Now come on guys," he says across toward the gang members. "Let's try and fight fair here. Actually, why don't you make it easy on yourselves and just surrender now?"

They suddenly don't know who to focus on—the fairly-well-known Spider, or this OTHER guy. Spidey doesn't either, but hey, since he doesn't have a gun and is removing them from the Tong, he's going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Ricky suddenly realizes the two would-be victims have fled, and Shin is backing away, getting ready to get out of here. Ricky growls, and aims his pistol at Shin. Nobody crosses the Tong and lives, his word on-

And then something like a bomb goes off and he is thrown against the wall by the percussive force, slammed against it, and then pinned against it by thick, sticky webbing.
"DON'T YOU TOUCH HIM," Spidey says firmly, then looks at the others. "Who else here was to fight a losing battle?"

Three men had drawn guns earlier, and now only one is still armed. Miles no doubt feels a bit of a shock given that he has stumbled upon Peter, but he at least has the presence of mind to keep his attention on the situation at hand rather than gawk. For good measure, he flicks his wrist and sends another web out to snatch free the gun from the remaining gang member's hand and as it clatters across the ground, the man yells out, "Hey!"

Feeling emboldened, Miles pushes off of the wall and steps out into the clearing of the alley. "Man, this was easier than I thought it would be," he says, dusting his hands off against one another. He shifts his attention toward Spidey and questions, "Is it always this simple here?" Is he taunting the goons? Gloating? Possibly.

Spidey looks at the new guy. He's got moxie, that's for sure, but his voice does hold a note of caution.
"I have a certain reputation working for me. I've been putting these guys in embarassing positions for weeks now, and…" He looks around. The other two have fled, and only Shin is there, huddled in a corner.
Spidey drops to the ground, then waves, "Hey there. No web treatment for you, I heard what the guy said. And Ricky here…" he points to the webbed thug. "…has three warrants out for his arrest." He looks back to the new guy, then waves to him as well. "But you got heart, I'll give you that. Ain't seen you around, though. New to the crimefighting thing?"

There is a laugh from Miles as Peter mentions the reputation he has working for him, nodding his head as he watches the others run away. "Yeah… I can see that. Seems like you've been doing a good job, not that I'm surprised," he says before turning around to watch as Spidey speaks to Shin. When the attention is brought back around to him in the form of that question, Miles shrugs his shoulders and says, "That's a bit of a loaded question. I've been at it for a few months, just not here. You could say that I'm new to the area."

Spidey nods sagely, then turns to Shin. "Want us to walk you home? We can keey an eye out for any other Tong stupid enough to try.
The boy nods, then bows to Spider-Man, then to the other spider-man. <Thank you, Honorable Spiders.>
Spidey smiles a bit at that. That title seems to have gotten around. "All right." He looks to Miles. "Want to chat a bit while we give Shin some street cred? We can start with what you call yourself." He holds up a finger. "Just so you realize, 'Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' is taken." He grins.

Miles seems a bit surprised by Shin's words, his head tilting to the side before he bows in return to the boy… super awkwardly. "You're welcome, man. No big," he offers with a complete lack of decorum to go along with his bow. Once that is over, he looks back to Peter and offers a nod. "Sure. I don't have anywhere I have to be more important than this…" he says before gesturing for Shin to lead the way. He does hang back a moment to let Shin get a bit of a head start to give him and Peter some measure of privacy. "So how old are you… here?" he says to Peter as they start off. "And I was going by Spider-Man back home. No Friendly Neighborhood."

Spider-Man hmms as he strolls along. It's a little unusual for him to be walking at street level, but the kid might have to worry about some pushback from the Tong, and it might be a good idea to up the patrol frequency here for awhile. "That's a secret…but I've been doing this for almost two years. So I have a bit of a rep in some circles. Most of the time, those circles are gunsights, but oh, well." He shrugs. "Well, 'Spider-Man,' we might have to figure some way to differentiate ourselves. After all, if someone yells SPIDER-MAN! and we both hear it…it can get confusing." He pauses. "How do you make your webs?"

Miles nods as the pair walk, listening to what Peter has to say. His eyes glance upward, moving to mark the rooftops and then down each alley they pass. "I would imagine that you have. Like I said, I had only been at it for two months back home, but I had a good teacher for a while…" he mutters as his gaze shifts back toward Shin to make sure the boy is doing alright for himself. When Peter asks about his web, he lifts his left hand to reveal a web shooter somewhat like Peter's own device though without a few of the fancier features. "I was actually given this by another Spider-Man in my own dimension when we found each other. It was an early model of his that he gave me to use through training. And you?"

Spidey pauses for a few steps, then hustles to catch up. "You mean, you're also from a different universe?"
Also?
"Wow…yeah, that does look familiar." He holds up his own webshooter for the other Spider-Man to see, a much sleeker design that meshes well with his suit. "I developed a new set when I designed this suit, but I had help with the suit V.I. It translated the spoken Mandarin Chinese spoken. Language plugin."

"Also? What do you mean? Are you not from here either?" Miles says, stalling in his stride to glance back over his shoulder until Peter hustles to catch up to him. "Like I said, I was in training back home with a much older Spider-man. He had been at it for years before I ended up with my powers. I went in to bust up this deal on black market tech that we got a tip on by myself. I ended up getting caught in the cross hairs of a device that was made to tear holes in between dimensions, and now I'm here… I… I don't know how or if I will ever make it back."
It is clear that while Miles attempts to brush through the little story, he is not quite able to keep the emotion from tinting his voice at the thought about not being able to make it back home. When Peter reveals his own web shooter, it is a welcome distraction and he leans forward to examine it before saying, "Dude. That's awesome. I'm jealous."

Spidey looks at Other Spidey with sympathy. "Well, this world is my home…but there is another Spider from a different world. Calls herself Spider-Girl. From what I can gather, a version of me, thirty years or so older, taught her everything he…I…knew. She was brought here when an experiment went wrong. Unfortunately, the server rack that did all the calculations was hit by a wild flux of reality and turned into a ten-foot-block of spaghetti. Not much data retreival from that one…"

"Seems like she and I have a pretty similar story," Miles says thoughtfully, his attention drifting briefly toward Shin before coming back to regard Peter. "I will have to try and catch up to her sometime. She might be another good friend to have," he muses.

Spidey chuckles. "Well…give me a couple of days, I can set up something for you that you can put into your mask. It's something I call the Spider-Comm system. Give you comms with the other Spiders, and provides some support using the aug-reality plugins. Like a HUD."
