Avengers Mansion. Home of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

While the team has been through its ups and downs, perhaps one of the team's more accepted traditions is the willingness to improve constantly. Even Tony.

….Even Tony.

Despite his small amount of actual formal training, Tony seems to be trading hands with a punching bag. Clearly practicing some basic kickboxing as he punches and throws a knee and a kick in there at times.

He wears a simple athletic shirt (with the arc reactor on his chest peeking through with its light blue hue) and some sweatpants.

*

Natasha happens to be on her way to some training of her own, albeit unlike Tony, to her it's a far more regular routine. Likely about as frequently as Tony attends social affairs and parties. She's dressed for the occasion, comfortable yoga pants and a sports top, all fittingly black with some minor red detailing. She grins when she spots Tony working the punching bag, "there's a sight you don't see everyday," she quips.

*

Tony looks over to his favorite Russian super-spy when she enters and makes a quip about his presence. He turns, looks at Natasha in the eyes and shamelessly, as he always does really, gives her a once-over to check her out.

He's Tony.

"Look who's talking. How's my favorite Russian doing today?" He asks, leaving the punching bag alone as he turns to face her.

*

"Look who's talking? I'm here far more than you are, working out, keeping in shape, and honing my martial skills…if you had less events on your schedule, you'd notice," Natasha keeps with the teasing, as she moves to the mat to start on some stretches, which only goes to show just how flexible she is.

*

She doesn't say anything about Tony's appraising looks, she knows who is by now, and wouldn't begrudge him something so petty. Now if he was a stranger, maybe it was different, but she knows he means no harm.

*

What? She was a work of art and Tony knew it. And he felt like when she was stretching like she did, she was not only showing off, but just being a tease! Given, this is just Tony's mind at work, not Natasha's actual intentions. But he does walk over to her, crossing his arms.

"I meant that I don't see you often, Nat. How are you?" He asks curiously. "Its been a month, or something like that."

*

"Maybe if you spent less time at parties, and more time at the gym, you'd see more of me, just a thought," Natasha continues with the verbal teasing, as she lowers herself into the splits and starts stretching her upper body along each leg. "So how come you're here? Looking to shut down all the celebrity frenzy, or needed a break to refocus?" Asked how she is, Nat simply quips, "the same, focused on the next mission, keeping in tip top shape. How about you? On the verge of any new invention?"

*

"I'll have you know that I don't spend that much time at parties anymore."

PPFFFFFFTTTT.

Okay, it does make him laugh a little bit. "Okay, sorry, sorry. But really. I don't. I figure I'd practice some boxing. I did learn from a few SHIELD agents how to fight, you know. But…not quite on the levels of most." he rubs the back of his neck. When asked about his next invention, Tony smirks. "Wouldn't you like to know." He winks. "Just a more high-speed, high-powered model of the suit." he shrugs. "Nothing fancy, like a meat cleaner."

*

"Really? Well congratulations on taking a step towards responsibility, Stark," Natasha winks playfully, and turns to stretch across her other leg. When Tony mentions a focus on boxing, Nat offers, "talk to Steve, he can give you excellent instruction, boxing is all about positioning, and Steve's is second to none. Believe it or not, that's high praise from me."

"I respect the fact you keep improving on your model, that's how you retain technological superiority. The likes of A.I.M. would just love to outdo you one day."

*

"Nah, I don't want to be as good as Steve. And lets be completely honest, I'd never be as good at Steve, but he'll never be as smart as me." he pokes at his head like 'HAH! I have an advantage too!' but its done in playful teasing not in actual seriousness, because Steve was a genius compared to most people.

"Well thank you. I'm not gonna let a bunch of science flunkies in AIM try and outdo me. Besides, every attempt they've made have ended in comical failure, so I'm more or less kicking them back in the dirt after each armor. Even if creating armors is just a hobby more than anything now."

*

"Doesn't mean either of you shouldn't keep working at getting better at your weaker points," Natasha notes, "what do you do if you have to fight after your suit has been disabled?" Natasha asks pointedly, as she gets up, and performs a series of kicks in the air.

"Fair point, but people get better with failure, that's why I never underestimate even the lowliest guard," Natasha quips, but with the sort of knowing smile that suggests she's teasing again.
