Tony was currently doing some maintanence on the Iron Man suit, though honestly? This was like…what, Mark 40? Though he's currently implementing his Arc reactor tech proper into the suit. He's wearing a T-shirt and some black cargo pants, some VANS shoes as well, the arc reactor on his chest shining its blue hue. Thank god he got rid of the palladium core a while ago.
Anyway.
Tony doesn't seem to be very vocal, but Jarvis is jamming out AC/DC on the Mansion's stereo system to appeal to Tony's sensitive thinking process.
With ACDC destroying eardrums halfway through the mansion, Shuri is bund to investigate, making her way to Tony's workshop. "JARVIS, -17 decibell please," comes her demanding voice as she enters the room, glaring at the source of the commotion. Another deathmachinerobotsuit? "Mr. Stark, that music is loud enough to disorient people on the street outside!"
Tony is apparently whistling the tune to 'back in black', which is extremely ironic when Shuri approaches inside and demands JARVIS to lower the volume, which he does. "Of course." the british sounding disembodied voice says, which makes Tony turn his head to Shuri. "I was listening to that."
Tony frowns just a minute as he settles the arc reactor in proper on the chest, the luminescant blue hue very apparent until he turns the light down a little bit on the energy source.
"So what can I do you for, your highness?" Of course, their last meeting was…surprisingly revealing, Tony isn't bringing it up.
"I was looking for the source of the noise and can hear the song still fine. How are you not deaf from hearing your music at this level by now, Mr. Stark?" she asks, glancing at the machine he was working on. "Another specialized power armor? What do you plan to use this one against?"
"Thats because you literally have the ears of a cat."
Tony knows that the Black Panther's senses are rather…extremely enhanced. In fact, he's made countermeasures juuuust in case. Nonetheless though, Tony seems to smirk at her. "Come on, we've known each other long enough that Tony works - just fine -. And trust me, I've been testing weapons for a majority of my life. Ever been right next to a missile when it launches and the explosion radius catches you in it? Good practice."
He then looks over to his suit. "For speed and perception. Should help me break mach two and still be able to know what the hell is happening, but since I'm only human, I'm going to have JARVIS contemplate my inability to see whats coming at ultra-high speeds."
"You still can't put your speakers up that loud that people up there can see it in their coffee cups." Shuri remarks as she takes a look at the armor more, slowly circling it. "So you are planning on… hunting missiles with that?" She asks, reaching for a tablet to look at the specs. "Have you thought about compressional webbing to keep your blood in the torso and brain as well as a high pressure oxygen environment to keep your blood saturated? Oh, I know, that's basics, but oddly enough often forgotten…" she rambles while trying to skim through the specs - or as much as they were available. "You could alter the aerodynamics a bit to get a little bump. Smooth out the shoulders…"
Tony looks at Shuri. "Of course I can. I'll just pay them for the inconvenience. Besides, headphones are a miraculous invention. You should try them out sometime." he winks at her before he looks back to the armor. "Its just the shell right now, I'm still working on the specifics. Its going to be a sleek armor, its meant to be fast and pack a hard punch, which means I have to sacrifice usual levels of durability. Considering that its made from a gold-titanium alloy, its still tough but…don't expect me to be point blank on a bomb explosion." He shrugs a bit.
"I plan to place that as nerve-like patterns within the suit proper to essentially, if but temporarily, enhance my brain functions enough by raising high pressure oxy-…yeah, you know what I'm talking about. So don't worry. Might even take a page from owls to make my flight a bit more quiet, becuase I'm worried that my current design might make a whistle-effect on the updraft."
"I you want to go fast.. hmmm… Try this…" Shui notes, altering some sketch parts on the tablet, pretty much pulling the shoulders up so they woudl shield the body for extra speed, then altering the boots to get a hidden pair of airbrakes into the right position to hit the airstream after the modification. "Basic physics engineering: Reduce the drag as much as possible to reduce losses… which is for a human being reducing the steps. Or increase it to steer and decellerate."
Tony and Shuri were in the Mansion, with Tony apparently making some new armor in his lab. If you were in the mansion, Back in Black by AC/DC was being played on max volume earlier. Sorry :/
Tony then looks at Shuri as she tries to teach him basic engineering physics. "You insult my intelligence." Tony says with a grin. "But, its a good idea. This suit needs to stop and do sharp turns literally on a dime."
"Aesthetics and style don't go hand in hand." Shuri answers, grinning back as she plays with the shell design on the screen, altering some parts and generally running smoothign passes over the armor. The result starts to loose human shape slowly, more immitating a cruise missile in some regards. "All for speed, all for Speed."
"Coming from the lady who comes from an extremely isolationist country who's suit is made complete with a nigh-unpenetrable suit of armor and a -cape-." Tony stares at her for a moment then. "Nope, gotta be a human shape. If its too inhuman in its shape, I won't have the same freedom of mobility."
"You overestimate the panther habit a little." Shuri notes, though to some degree Tony is not wrong: the vibranium armor she has would be nigh inpenetrable, but that has not been seen outside of Wakanda ever, and even in Wakanda it was almost a state secret. "Yea, I figured so much, but the more you could get to the optimized shape, the better your speed."
"The Panther Habit. I forgot you named them. You know, if you can get me some Vibranium, could upgrade it for you." He teases very lightly, but Tony then looks at the holographic image itself for a moment. "I know. But I have to be comfortable in it too."
Shuri chuckles as she shaes her head "You know how expensive that is? Wakanda can't possibly afford the ammount needed to make an armor of it. The claws are already some million in US dollars…" right, Wakanda doesn't mine the stuff for the world stage to know. How would a tiny country that sells grain afford it? Starving its people? "Well, that's the topology optimisation, nw we need to see how close you can get."
"I wouldn't know. Does Vibranium actually have a price that people can afford?" Of course, Tony could probably buy it in bulk with how much cash he has. But Tony shrugs either way, he humms just a minute. "Eh, I'll pick this up later. Part of me wants to go joyriding or help Thor find his hammer to see if I can rule Asgard."
"Thor find his hammer? I thought the hammer would make him who he was." Shuri notes, ignoring the pricing question on purpose before pointing to the door. "Let's get moving then."
