Asgard and the Bifrost

Faction Type: Racial/Homeland Faction OOC Contacts: Staff IC Contacts: (None at this time) Headquarters: Asgardian Embassy Theme: Asgard stands proud, being watched over by the All Father as it ever has. Currently the relationship between Asgard and Midgard is unchanged. In an effort to keep peaceful ties with Midgard, Asgard has been allowed to set up an embassy that is based in NYC. Heimdal will send newcomers by the bifrost to the Embassy first to be accounted for as a respect to the world they visit. While the UN has moved, the Embassy remains in New York. Asgardians traveling to Midgard are generally sent for specific reasons or have made a compelling argument to Odin for letting them go to the Big Apple. Many in northern Germany and Scandinavia welcome the Asgardians for their historical knowledge and significance to their cultures and countries. Some resent them for portraying themselves as gods to their ancestors and others, generally neo-pagans, still consider them gods and worthy of veneration. Notes: To have your character page and logs show up under this faction, use the "asgardians" tag. We do not use the MCU view of Asgardians. They are an extradimensional race not a spacefaring one. We feel the timeline as it has evolved over decades in the comics is more detailed and fits better with the rest of the Marvel Universe. Odin is literally a million years old though most Asgardians have lived mere thousands and have been worshiped for about two millenia. Where the MCU conflicts with the established comics canon, the comics win. If you're not sure, please ask. While some may worship Asgardians as old Norse Gods, the Asgardians and their ilk are not gods, but beings from the Nine Realms of Alfheim, Asgard, Hel, Jotunheim, Midgard, Muspelheim, Nidavelir, Svartalfheim, and Vanaheim and include the Aesir, Vanir, Demons, Dwarves, Dark Elves, Light Elves, Giants, Trolls, and others. They are not purely immortal but extremely long-lived. All Asgardian-related characters can be presumed to have knowledge of the embassy and its contacts in New York.
