Background

Lady Sigyn was born to a minor Asgardian noble house and had a normal childhood for a girl of her class. Her parents arranged her marriage to a member of the Allfather's guard and Sigyn was content in the match. Her fiance was no worse than any other Asgardian man, and better than most. Politically it was a match that was good for them both, and if he took her a bit for granted, well, so did her parents.

A few months before the wedding, however, her fiance changed. He began talking to her, paying attention to her, and the two fell more deeply in love. Married by the Allfather himself, her fiance then revealed himself to be Loki in disguise, her actual fiance having died months before and Loki taking his place. When the Allfather declared that not even he could annul the marriage, Sigyn announced she would be true to her vows and the Allfather pronounced her the goddess of fidelity.

Behind closed doors things weren't resolved quite so easily. Sigyn's feelings towards Loki were deeply conflicted and Loki's nature as the God of lies meant that her attempts at polite fictions were an utter failure. Marriage taught Sigyn more about herself however, including the fact that she could be incredibly stubborn. She was determined to be a proper wife to Loki, including following him into exile. And if she was uncertain if her love for Loki was real when he tricked her into marrying him, with the centuries she did truly fall in love with him.

Which made it ironic when Loki decided that their marriage was an unfair burden on her. He attempted to release her from her vows, and she refused. Asgard praised her fidelity, but Sigyn felt it was more stubbornness. She had decided that she wanted Loki, and it was unfair for him to decide he no longer wanted her.

Their marriage continues to be an uneasy thing. Loki sometimes seems to run towards her, at others seems to run away. She doesn't know how to explain that the Asgardian court has come try her patience far more than Loki's wandering does. Sigyn will show up when Loki is living as himself, and try to take care of him to varying degrees of success, and often they're happy for a while. But whether it's a few weeks or a few decades, something inevitably goes wrong. Loki will go into hiding or vanish for a prank. He'll be ordered to stay in Asgard or ordered to not darken its doorstep.
It doesn't matter to Sigyn. She'll find her husband sooner or later, forgive him and try to help Loki put his life back together again.

She's stubborn like that.

Powers

• Aesir Physiology: Being native to the realm of Asgard, Sigyn has the corresponding strength, constitution, endurance, and rapid healing common to all Aesir. This also means she ages extremely slowly compared to humans. Quantitatively, she can lift up to 25 tons, withstand strenuous situations (like combat) for up to 24 hours before exhaustion sets in, withstand 3 times the blunt force trauma that a human would due to having three times denser skin and musculature, weighs 3 times that of a human of similar stature, heals injuries 24 times faster than a human (a cut that would take a human 14 days to heal would take her 14 hours), and ages 100 times more slowly than a human (when she reaches 3000 years old she will be the physiological equivalent of a human 30 year old). • Allspeak: Another perk of being Aesir, Sigyn has the Allspeak at her disposal, allowing her to speak and comprehend any spoken language on any of the Nine Realms. This does not, however extend to written or non-verbal languages such as sign language. : Niflheim, Muspelheim, Asgard, Midgard, Jotunheim, Vanaheim, Alfheim, Svartalfheim & Helheim. This ability is limited to only the spoken languages of the realms conferring no fluency in written or other non-verbal means of communication such as sign language.

• Mindspeech: Sigyn can communicate mind to mind over vast distances, though only within the same dimension unless boosted by additional ritual. This functions unerringly line of sight or to entities she knows well, otherwise she'll need to scry the intended target and then make contact. Bespeaking someone allows limited communication if they don't share a common language via use of imagery and emotion. She cannot read memories, or directly take over someone's mind. Mental shielding of any sort can hedge her out.

• Teleportation: Sigyn can magically teleport with great effort, though only within the same realm. She can affect up to half the mass she can physically move, and can only teleport a few times in any given day.

• Sorcery: A life long student of the mystical arts, Sigyn may be able to move objects and people with her mind (max of 15 tons), cast bolts of magical force to strike with great impact (10 tons), or blasts that detonate in a fifteen foot radius to hit about as hard as what she can move (15 tons). Sigyn may craft warding shields that protect against attacks up to 25 tons of force. She can create shields to protect herself or others within her line of sight, and is able to protect against her own magical attacks within her line of sight to prevent friendly fire. Sigyn can scry to sense remote locations and with great effort even other dimensions, this ability can be blocked by wards, or sufficiently strong mental shields. Scrying is very taxing, she can perform no other magic while scrying. Further, her senses are not in her form, which render it extremely vulnerable to attack. She can heal others, but only minor to moderate injuries or ailments can be reversed. She is able to defend against the powers of others; but while her resistance to magical attacks is strong, resisting non-magical powers takes advanced preparation or ritual, and tech powers nearly impossible.

• Domestic Goddess: Raised to be a wife, trained in sorcery and made the Goddess of Fidelity, Sigyn's powers are boosted when it comes to domestic, household matters. Healing spells are boosted from being able to heal minor injuries to being able to heal major ones when in a home that is hers. Spells involving cleaning, producing food or clothing, or preserving the home are near effortless for her, and her defensive magic is almost doubled under her own roof or when defending children.

Skills

• Self Defense: Sigyn was raised to be a warrior's wife, and trained to defend the home when her husband is away. She is profecient by Asgardian standards in sword, bow, and spear. It is only in fighting with a dagger that she excels, being the equal or better of most Asgardian warriors with short blades. Her husband has also taught her how to fight dirty if cornered.

• Highly educated: Originally educated to the standards of an Asgardian noblewoman, her husband has furthered her education. Sigyn can read and write with native ability most of the major languages of the Nine Realms. While not skilled in the use of technology, it is not shocking to her. She is highly trained in sorcery and mathematics, as well as economics and trade.

• Patience & Diplomacy: Unexpectedly finding herself a Princess of Asgard, Sigyn quickly learned to conceal her emotions, control her tongue, and behave as befits a member of the royal court. The demeanor many take to be a naturally patient and sweet nature is actually the result of hard work, and very few have seen that carefully cultivated demeanor fail.

Advantages

• Princess of Asgard: Married into the royal family of Asgard, Sigyn is essentially and literally a Princess of Asgard with all the duties, rights and baggage this entails.

• Wealth: Sigyn has an allowance as a princess of Asgard and the support of her husband. As long as she is on the good side of one or the other, she has no need to work except for what is needed to keep them happy with her.

• Artifacts: Sigyn has a small collection of magical artifacts, most of which are meant to make domestic life more comfortable. A blanket that always keeps those beneath it a comfortable temperature, a spoon that can stir on its own, and other such minor trinkets. The two of import are a ring Tryggmatt (safe food) that turns black in the presence of poison, and a dagger Hjemmebund (homebound) which will always find its way back to her hand.

Flaws

• Stubborness: What most people take as devotion is actually a deeply rooted stubbornness. This stubbornness means that she refuses to take the easy way out or give up on what might be a bad idea.

• Tainted by Association: Being married to the God of Lies has tainted Sigyn's reputation on Asgard by association. At best she is pitied for being burdened with such a husband, at worse people whisper that something must be wrong with her that she didn't leave him when given a chance. Her husband also has a plethora of enemies, many of whom won't hesitate to strike at her in order to hurt him.

• Magical Limits: Despite her power as a goddess and sorceress, Sigyn's magical gifts have some hard limits to what she can do. First, she can only use two of her magical abilities at a time. She could shield against attacks and use her magic to heal or stablize an injured person, but would have to drop one or the other to do something else such as hurl a bolt of force, or teleport away. Shields and wards can often block her abilities as well. Finally, in any given day she can only work nine major spells such as hurling bolts of greater than a quarter strength, casting a shield over more than two or so yards in radius, or teleporting.
