Background

Ranna Pryde was born to Marthe Pryde, a high level operative within the Celestial Order of Si-Fan. From a young age, Ranna displayed telekinetic abilities and was placed into a training program for The Order that taught her how to use and focus them.

She was trained with one purpose in mind. To seek out those of The Project, bring them back to The Order or annihilate them.

Shortly before her sixteenth birthday, The Order implanted psi-nodes in Ranna's brain that worked with her latent telepathic ability that never fully developed. The nodes turned Ranna from just a psi-fighter into a psi-hunter, able to detect users of the Psi-Nodes The Project used. What The Order didn't tell her - was the nodes turned her into a relentless Hunter. Once she detected a signal, Ranna is compelled to follow it, no matter what.

Two years ago, something happened and The Project was destroyed. Ranna had been in the field and was not aware of this until she returned home some time later. It was soon discovered that there was at least one survivor and they were working their way through the United States.
Ranna has been sent to find them, bring them in or finish them. One way or the other The Order wants to see The Project finished for good. Her trail has bought her to New York.

Powers

Psi-Hunter of The Project

Ranna has been implanted with Psi-Nodes that boost her small latent telepathic ability to detect those who are using the kinetic technology of The Project. This detection is always on. The kinetic node user must be within 1 mile of her and in the open for her to be able to track them clearly. It's possible that in time, she may be able to train this ability to detect other psi-users. See Flaw: Blocked and Flaw: Driven

Movement Telekinesis: Agility

Ranna is able to enhance her physical abilities, allowing her to boost her strength, speed, agility and reaction times slightly beyond human maximums.

Movement Telekinesis: Weapons and Items

Ranna is able to:

• Enhance the movement on any thrown weapon up to 160 yards with enough force to ruin a medium sized cars engine block.
• Control their movement mid air to redirect their flight, make them bounce around, ricochet or fly past someone and then hit them on the return journey;
• Call any handheld item to her hand from up to 320 yards away, as long as they aren't actively being held on to (per the limit below).

This is limited to the ability to control 1 large item (eg.an axe) or 5 medium items (daggers) going in the same direction or 20 small ones (darts) going in the same direction at a time.

Skills

Martial Artist

Ranna has trained from a young child in Martial Arts. There is no one style she favours but a melding of multiple different ones. She's no master but she holds her own against some of the greatest in the world and when using her TK ability might even be able to best them.

Weapon Master

Ranna is highly adept at thrown weapons. Her favourite are her Bladed Chakrams but this also extends to knives and daggers, shurikens, flechettes, kunai, darts, bolas, boomerangs and even throwing axes. She has moderate skill with personal firearms.

Linguist

Ranna speaks Japanese, English and Mandarin.

Advantages

Cogmium Weapons or Items

Ranna owns two leather braces that have 'scales' made of Cogmium. These scales can be easily removed and form into weapons or items that are enhanced for psi-control. In addition to Movement Telekinesis: Weapons and Items, Ranna can:

• Psibernetically modify the edge of bladed weapons to suit her purpose.
• This is limited to 2 large items (eg. Chakrams) going in different directions or 10 medium items (eg daggers) going in different directions or 40 small items (flechettes) going in mostly diverse directions (eg fan patterns and the like).

The main weapons / items that Ranna can form with these are:

• 2 * Chakrams (Disks measuring about 5" in diameter) used as a melee or thrown weapon (normally or psi-enhanced).
• 40 * Flechettes used psibernetically
• Flexible 40' cable with hooked ends to help Ranna scale tall structures where a psibernetically enhanced leap can't reach.

With practice and familiarity, Ranna is able to create other weapons and items. See Flaw: TK Movement.

Cogmium Coated Bracers

When Ranna isn't using her cogmium weapons, her braces double as armour. These are equivalent protection to ceramic reinforced kevlar.

The Order

Ranna has the support of The Order. This extends to credential forging, long range transport and general intelligence.

Flaws

TK Movement

If Ranna enhances the velocity of a thrown weapon, it is extremely difficult for her to redirect or control its movement in any other way - but not impossible. Doing so more than twice in four hours for regular weapons and five times for Cogmium weapons will strain her ability and cause massive headaches that last a day.

Blocked

Ranna's psi-hunting ability is limited to those who have implants created by The Order. The ability works perfectly if the target is operating in the open with no obstructions like cement or metal walls around them. If these obstructions exist, she will get the signal but it will be faint and hard to track.

Driven

When The Order modified Ranna so she could track the renegades, they added something extra and they didn't tell her. When she detects a user of The Projects tech, she is driven to find them and won't rest while the signal is active. This can cause interesting complications depending on what she's doing.

Still Only Human

Ranna can push her body to incredible feats of agility and athleticism thanks to her TK ability. However, she is still human and if she exerts herself for more than 4 hours at full strength, she'll need to rest for 24 hours to recover.

Fringe Science

Ranna's psi-implants were created based on stolen tech from The Project. This makes them extremely experimental and they can cause neurological problems for her. From migraines for no reason to other more unexplainable symptoms.

Human Heart

Despite all the training and conditioning she's received, Ranna sees the humanity in the people she hunts. This sometimes makes it difficult for her to complete her mission. Maybe that's why they did what they did to her implants.
