Background

Abandoned at birth, Posse's life began as a rudderless struggle just to keep up. Bounced between foster homes, never permanently adopted, and an under-performer in school, she enlisted into the US Army upon coming of age and, after a harsh beginning in basic training, found the family and purpose she'd been searching for.
In time Posse came to excel as a soldier and over the next few years found both her biological families using DNA testing - a mother who wants nothing to do with her and a father with whom she slowly rebuilt a positive if sometimes awkward relationship, and from whom she took her now-iconic surname.
After making the leap into special operations, Posse joined the Army Rangers and served meritoriously for over a decade until the UN attack in 2014 reassigned her unit to NYC to help enforce martial law and quell the chaos. During this peacekeeping Posse's helicopter was shot down by a stray sentinel beam and she was badly injured - almost killed. Waking up as an amputee in a hospital bed to the beginning of a long and painful rehab process, she was saved from permanent retirement by an offer to join an experimental cybernetics program run by the company RESCUE.
Posse readily accepted and at the cost of years of blood, sweat, surgery, and tears (though she might not admit how many), the rebuilt cyborg emerged as a rare success - not only fully mobile but more combat effective than ever. Due to the unfamiliar nature and maintenance needs of Posse's highly specialized hardware she remained barred her from military re-enlisting in a combat role, so the rejuvenated operator was turned to RESCUE's Overwatch program for critical incident response. As an Overwatch member she's been assigned on temporary duty to the Powered Crime Bureau (PCB) of the NYPD, which she now serves.

Powers

• Cybernetic Implants: Posse's left eye, left arm, left leg, and lower right leg are all bionic prosthetics controlled by implanted brain-scanning electrodes. These allow her to function as an able-bodied human and augment her with various super-human abilities. The cybernetics and implanted electrodes are all shielded against EM interference and resistant to EMP.
• Cybernetic Vision: Posse's bionic left eye has super-human visual acuity and can see beyond the visible spectrum - including infrared, thermal, UV, and millimeter-wave. Augmented specifically for combat, it has a high frame-rate, optical zoom, and computerized overlay.
• Cybernetic Limbs: Posse's cybernetic limbs are tireless, have slightly super-human speed, and can lift about two tons. Individually they can move with bullet-dodging reflexes, while surgically attached and reinforced sockets allow prolonged wear without discomfort.

Skills

• Special Operations (Infantry): As a veteran of the special operations community, Posse is exceptionally skilled in matters of infantry combat and small-unit command. This includes everything from the mundane tasks of tightly packing a bag to raid tactics and combat rappelling.
• Warfare Training (Urban, Jungle, Desert): Posse can survive in and comfortably navigate urban, jungle, and desert environments, and is versed in some of the unique challenges of each. Pursuit, tracking, evasion, foraging, orienteering, and basic region-specific medical treatment (e.g. heatstroke and snake bites) are all covered. Of the three, jungle is her favorite.
• Mental Toughness: Posse is trained to an exceptional mental toughness and can be relied upon to keep a cool, unflinching head in the face of almost anything. Deeply inured against violence, gore, and physical hardship, Posse has learned how to push herself near the limits of what her body and mind can handle.
• Firearms (Various): Posse is familiar with the care and marksmanship of rifles, shotguns, sidearms, and heavier weapons - conventional and energy weapons - with a specialty in reflex shooting at close range (point shooting).
• Martial Arts: Posse is trained in military armed and unarmed close-quarters combat as an effective though not expert user, and can reliably hold her own against most untrained or amateur humans in a fight.

Advantages

• RESCUE membership: Posse is a patient and test subject of the cybernetics, medical, and emergency response company RESCUE and a member of their Overwatch critical incident response group. Her cybernetics, medical care, at times housing, and paycheck all come from here. Her Security Clearance relies upon this.
• Law Enforcement Officer: Posse is on temporary assigned duty to the Powered Crime Bureau (PCB) of the NYPD as part of RESCUE's partnerships with military and law enforcement, and for most purposes has the status of a normal member. This is her day job and includes access to their headquarters and supplies. Her Concealed Carry relies upon this. As Posse is only assigned to the PCB, she has no special authority when dealing with non-powered crime and is not in official terms a New York police officer.
• Security Clearance: Posse has active US and UN security clearance.
• Cyborg Suit: A cybernetic suit that enhances Posse's human body up to the level of her Cybernetic Limbs, granting near limitless stamina and enough agility to dodge bullets. This is Posse's everyday wear under civilian clothes, with armor panels and attachments added when dispatched with the PCB. It also has LIDAR (800m), SONAR (100m), and climate control.
• G-Suit: A specialized under-layer of Posse's Cyborg Suit, this helps her cope with the g-forces of high-speed movement and offers some help in high-g or low-pressure environments.
• Substrate Anchored Holographic Imaging System (SAHI): The Substrate Anchored Holographic Imaging system creates a short-distance hologram around Posse's body and cybernetics, allowing her to maintain an illusion of natural skin or clothes. SAHI can also operate in a Camouflage Mode making her invisible but movement of Posse or objects behind her causes tell-tale distortion at the hologram's edges. SAHI holograms are purely visual and have no effect on sound, scent, or texture.
• EMS Suit: A thin unitard with electrode pads that perform electric muscle stimulation (EMS). This allows Posse to perform the same 'move by thinking' used by her cybernetic suit, to relearn her new electrode connection and keep practice without needing to don her bulky cyborg suit. This suit gives Posse's biology a slight increase in her reflexes (equalling her cybernetics) but has none of the strength/speed enhancements, climate control, armor, nor bullet-dodging programming of her Cybernetic Suit - it is purely a way of moving.
• Tactical Motorcycle: Posse's preferred transportation on and off duty, an electric tactical motorcycle built to handle the high-speed, high-force rigors of chasing armed threats. Enhancements include all-wheel drive, run-flat tires, light armor plating, infrared head- and tail-lights, and various minor reinforcements.
• Gun Collection: Posse owns a gun collection spanning ancient and modern firearms of historic importance, plus a few that she just finds fun to shoot. All of it is registered.
• Concealed Carry: Posse has a concealed carry license for New York City and uses it routinely.

Flaws

• Amputee: Posse is missing her left leg, half of her right leg, and is blind in her left eye. Without her cybernetics she is reliant upon prosthetics to function in daily life. Without either she is significantly handicapped.
• Limp Reflexes: High-speed movement in her Cybernetic Suit requires Posse to trust her suit to move ahead of her own body and keep herself relaxed inside of it, otherwise the puppeted movements lead to significant muscular soreness and the suit must slow itself to prevent injury. This was an arduous skill to learn and Posse now wears her Cyborg Suit whenever possible to avoid unlearning it. When forced to be unsuited, normal movements are now unnatural to her and worse, her startle reflex is to go limp, greatly hampering her reaction time.
• Vision Headaches: Posse is prone to headaches if both eyes see a significantly different image for too long - fast objects, high-speed flashes of light, loss of cybernetic vision, and using her cyborg eye's enhancements all encourage this.
• Machine Signature: Posse's cybernetics run warm, produce a constant microwave EM signature comparable to a busy home computer, and emit ultrasonic noise when moving.
• Light Armor: Unarmored, Posse's cybernetic limbs and suit can be damaged by knifes and bullets. Armor only adds protection up to light weapons and directed energy small arms, with partial resistance to high explosives. The only defense against chemical and biological weapons is an air filter.
• Swimming Brick: The sleeve additions grant Posse's cybernetics waterproofing and some amount of bouyancy, making it possible to swim at a normal speed without her suit and remain submerged without risk of damage. Any damage to her sleeves compromise this waterproofing and restore her current difficulties and risk of damage.
• Robot Puppet: Posse's implants can read her mind and her suit can completely override her body. Though security hardened for this exact reason, she is essentially defenseless against malicious programs or abuse of her pre-programmed reactions.
• Maintenance Cycles: Though built for long-term use Posse's cybernetics all require regular maintenance, from tune-ups and repairs to software bug-fixes. The exception to this are the electrodes and mounting sockets surgically attached inside her body, which are designed for multi-year life-cycles. Owing to all the extra hardware, Posse's biology also requires regular checkups.
• Kinetic Mindset: Hard-charging, strict, and action-seeking, Posse is maladapted to a life without the frenetic pace of battle or the strictures of military discipline. Left too much alone, she's prone to thrill-seeking and fits of isolation.
• Perfectionist: Posse expects 110 from others and especially from herself. Unable to accept anything short of success, she will work even to the detriment of her own health if allowed (Limp Reflexes, Vision Headaches) and regularly self-medicates with energy drinks to maintain her performance.
• Stunted Upbringing: Posse missed out on a lot of child-rearing in her youth and is lacking a smattering of 'common sense' life skills, including cooking, conversation, and some manners. While military life helped fill in some gaps it also created new habits that aren't always well-received in civilian settings.
• Specialized Surgery: Posse's EM shielding creates a unique medical challenge that requires specialized treatment to work around. While natural healing and patches are unaffected, invasive surgeries are more difficult as pieces of shielding can obstruct treatment or entangle tools or foreign objects.
