Background

Pamela Isley was born to a wealthy family in Seattle, and even early on had a keen interest in plant life. She stayed in Seattle, eventually getting her doctorate in botany and falling in love with one of her fellow botantists, who needed to procure some rare herbs for an experiment. Agreeing to help, Pamela didn't realize that she was going to be a guinea pig for the experiments, getting infused with exotic toxins that ended up mutating her DNA, transforming her into Poison Ivy. Needless to say, her lover didn't survive the experience.

Thus, she relocated to New York City, becoming what some would consider to be a super-villain, but she saw herself as an agent of "urban renewal." Eventually, she was captured and sent to Rykers, with little chance of parole or escape. Then, the government came to her, and offered her a deal, a chance at redemption to repair the damage that was recently done to New York City. Thinking that was preferable to living in a cage, Pamela accepted the opportunity for parole, now working for the government to help restore things. Additionally, the government thought her powers would be very useful for the new team they were recruiting for, so included a membership in the Thunderbolts as part of her deal.

Powers

Chlorokinesis: Poison Ivy has a semi-mystical connection to the plant world, which she can use to animate and manipulate plants. She can cause trees and vines to move as she wills them, to the point where she could collapse buildings by having plants infiltrate their structure. She can control plants within the area of a city block, and can maintain that control for fifteen minutes before she has to take an equivalent time to rest and recover.

Pheremone Control: Poison Ivy can take mental control of people using pheremones that she exudes naturally as a result of her modifications. Being sealed off environmentally can protect from this effect. This effect can affect any biological organism, though people with high degrees of willpower can resist the influence, as can being commanded to do something contrary to ones' ethics. The effect will fade away over time away from Ivy's presence, though staying nearby will prolong the mind control as it functions by proximity.

Communicating with Plants: Pamela has a form of telepathy/empathy with plants, and can sense their experiences and what they're feeling. She also can communicate with intelligent plant life (like Groot) in this manner as well. This ability has a one block radius.

Toxikinesis: Poison Ivy has a variety of plant and animal toxins active in her blood stream, which she can exude by touch. She can control this ability, so she doesn't have to affect just anyone she touches. She can also absorb toxins from plant life, adding those poisons to her collection. Some common abilities for her are:

• Incapacitation - A play on her name, Pamela can infect someone with a hyper-virulent strain of poison ivy, causing painful rashes and itching that can keep most normal people down for several hours without treatment. She can use this ability at will.
• Paralysis - Poison Ivy can also paralyze someone, making them appear dead and slowing their heartrate and breathing to almost nothing. This lasts for an hour, and she can use this once an hour, as it does take a bit out of her 'reserves'.
• Death - Pamela can kill with a kiss, with a concentrated dose that would kill or seriously hospitalize anyone that didn't have an enhanced constitution. She can do this once a day.

Toxin Immunity: Due to the saturation of her body with toxins, Poison Ivy is immune to all poisons and diseases, even extraterrestrial ones. One exception to this would be herbicides or poisons specifically designed to affect plant life (see Flaws).

Pigment Manipulation: Though Pamela prefers her natural 'green' skin, she can manipulate her pigmentation so her hair and skin change colors, allowing her to pass relatively unnoticed in public.

Skills

Biologist: Dr. Pamela Isley is a renowned botantist and toxicologist, possibly one of the best in the world in her fields. As such, she has an expert knowledge of all manners of toxins and plants.

Persuasion: Thanks to the combination of her pheremones and general demeanor, Poison Ivy can be exceptionally persuasive, and often knows what psychological buttons to push in an opponent to make them do what she wants.

Athletic: Pamela is a fair combatant in hand to hand, and is an excellent swimmer and climber. She also is skilled at manipulating her vines and plants in a fight to strike opponents when they don't expect it.

Advantages

Thunderbolts: As a member of the Thunderbolts, she has full government sanction on authorized missions, and a limited amount of support available as well.

Flaws

Criminal: Poison Ivy is a known ecoterrorist and criminal, who only has a modicum of freedom thanks to the deal she signed with the Thunderbolts to turn over a new leaf (as it were). Thus she has a decidedly negative reputation with most of the public and could easily be put back in jail (or worse) if the government decided to do so.

Herbicides: Poison Ivy is normally immune to toxins, but herbicides designed specifically to harm plants can do serious damage to her, and could even be fatal if applied consistently enough.

Vulnerable to Darkness: Pamela requires a certain amount of sunlight, or any light really, to thrive. Being deprived of light for a significant period of time can weaken her.

Plant Obsessed: Pamela has (with few exceptions) a low opinion of humanity, prefering the company of her plants. She has in the past attempted plots to rid the world (or New York) of humans, and while she doesn't plan anything like that at the moment, well… old habits die hard.
