Background

Neena's life began inside a subterranean bunker located within the Florida Everglades, known only to a select few as Project Armageddon, surrounded by scientists and military personnel. Created with modified genetics and raised to be a weapon she remained under the Project's control until age 13 when her mother, also associated with the Project, helped her to escape.

The next few months were spent at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Chicago. It had only taken her a few months to discover that things were not as they seemed, the church was home to a cult who wanted to use mutants for their own goals. This time she had escaped on her own.

With nowhere to go she fell back to training, first surviving off of simple crimes before gravitating toward more dangerous but better paying opportunities. Life as a mercenary seemed to be the perfect calling. Pretending to be older than she was, Neena got into the scene at 16 going by the name 'Domino' and took on various jobs around the planet for the next eight years.

The most recent job called for support in the New York area, bringing her back to a previously established safehouse within the city.

Powers

Probability Manipulation: Neena's trick is all about stacking the odds in her favor while setting up the opposition to fail. Subconsciously triggered, she's capable of pulling off highly improbable but not impossible feats such as guessing the right password or causing an enemy's weapon to malfunction. It could be simple and straightforward or staged and complex like a Rube Goldberg machine.

• Adrenaline helps to trigger this ability but it's always active to some extent.
• She can't always get what she wants but she might just get what she needs.
• Her own survival might put an ally at risk, luck always favors her first.
• It's possible to get around her probability field if she cannot first attempt to act or if she is unable to see a threat coming.
• If there isn't the slightest possibility, no matter how small, of something happening through other means then she cannot force it to occur.
• She cannot force someone else to do something against their will, however it is possible that they could suddenly get a muscle cramp or slip on the ground around her.
• This power does have a limit to its range but it is very fluid in nature. She cannot 'think' two city blocks away but if a bullet is fired at extreme distance or something were to fall from her while skydiving then it could still work out in her favor. Her ability to negatively affect those around her has a maximum reach of 50 feet. If something is focused on affecting her it can extend as far as 200 feet.

Snap Reflex: Complimented by her primary ability, Neena's reflexes are a little faster than human standards. In some situations it appears that she's moving much faster, seemingly capable of dodging bullets mid-flight. In truth she can only predict where an attack will be in advance to place herself out of harm's way.

Skills

Black Ops: The Project spent considerable resources in putting her through the best training that the U.S. Military could provide, offering a high degree of proficiency in:

• Small arms
• Vehicle operations including armored ground vehicles, aquatic craft, military helicopters, and commercial aircraft
• Demolitions use and crafting improvised explosives
• Hand to hand combat
• Tactics and evasion
• Basic field medicine

Athletics: She's quite good at running, is an excellent swimmer, and can operate with as much as 60 pounds of additional gear upon her person with limited hindrance. She's also skilled in more extreme situations such as falling from dangerous heights or rapidly navigating through adverse terrain while lugging a lot of extra equipment. While she's capable of carrying up to 120 pounds of extra weight, a typical 'extended patrol' loadout, this significantly impacts her Snap Reflexes power and physical abilities.

Infernal Ops: Her four years spent in the other dimension have focused more primitive skills. She's learned to be resourceful and has become quite adept at hunting and tracking, making protective gear, crafting improvised weapons, and building shelter. Combat proficiency includes devices such as spears, swords, and polearms.

Languages: Neena is also fluent in Russian, German, and Italian. Over time she's learned some Abyssal language but her grasp of it is fleeting at best.

Advantages

Military Facilities: While under the Project's control she had learned the locations of several operations including caches of military hardware. Such locations are always subject to change and her access to this intel has come to an end but there's a chance that some of them are still in service. Of course, they're all still restricted access and only a crazy person would try to raid them.

Combat Armor: This custom-fitted black polycarbonate armor is capable of stopping pistol rounds and providing a decent chance of deflecting most blades and common rifle calibers. Such protection does reduce the effectiveness of her Snap Reflex and is generally better left behind unless she's planning on getting into a major fight.

Mercenary: Time spent as a gun for hire has given her a healthy collection of resources.

• She has about a dozen secret caches across the globe which contain weapons, cash, and a small number of civilian vehicles.
• Basic non- permanent safehouses have been established worldwide.
• Offshore bank accounts hold the majority of her money with a total value of around three million dollars.
• Military- grade ordnance such as ballistic firearms, set charges, grenades, and RPG's are at her disposal.

Kinetic Staff: Intended as a non-lethal device, it can be used as a traditional fighting staff or it can fire a concussive energy projectile from either end. These projectiles only have a range of 50 feet but contain enough force to send a typical person cartwheeling with a direct hit.

Darkhunt Amulet: Discovered while in the other dimension, this artifact grants Neena the ability to see demonic auras within a hundred feet of herself and allows her to see better overall in the dark. Now and then it also hits her dopamine receptors, letting her push herself harder for a few minutes. Everything comes with a price, however.

Demon-Scented: Due to her corruption there are some infernals who might consider her one of their own and dark magic will 'recognize' her presence. While it's unlikely that she would ever have willing allies she might be able to 'persuade' some of them to help, or at least not immediately try to destroy her. This goes both ways, a strong enough entity could push her into working for it.

Flaws

Military Asset: She may think that she's a free person but she's really not. The Project may or may not exist but someone somewhere knows about their lost pet. They'd want their investment returned. Organizations like SHIELD may be aware of the Project and what came out of it, including her.

PTSD: Few situations which she has lived through were resolved peacefully. These experiences may have hardened her but they left numerous scars.

Alektorophobia: She has an irrational fear of chickens.

Selfish: What's in it for her? Money, expensive toys, an adrenal rush, endless Happy Hour, at the heart of her being she's driven by desire.

Conscience: Sometimes a situation comes up which even the selfish side of her cannot ignore. Somewhere inside is a scrap of humanity powerful enough to have her turn her back on a job to do the right thing, even if doing so puts a price on her own head.

Darkhunt Curse: The amulet which enhances her eyesight is powered by a demon with its own agenda. Over time this entity has bound itself to Neena and fed off of her in an effort to regain power. This has resulted in some physical alterations such as growing subtle fangs and adding a reflective sheen to her eyes while in the dark. Trying to separate her from this object would not be easy but remaining attached to it could result in a more serious threat. She'd have to want to be separated from it, however. Feeding it gives her a rush and it's all too happy to encourage violent behavior.

Hellbino: She isn't a demon but time and exposure have changed her and blurred this line.

• Being close to anything blessed causes irritation while anything tainted will instinctively draw her closer.
• Other demons will be able to sniff her out as an imposter. Many won't be so welcoming. Some may even desire to enthrall her.
• Any spell meant to detect evil or dark energy would be able to find her.
• Wards meant to restrict demonic energy affect her. She has a chance to break free save for the most powerful of wards but it can be quite painful to do so.
• She has a sensitivity to bright lights and the cold.
