Background

BACKGROUND
Catseye was born with her mutation active, and abandoned soon after birth. She was raised by cats and grew up feral in the Manhattan Underground. Hearing of a cryptid that she suspected was a mutant, Emma Frost located Catseye and used her telepathy to force the now-teenager to human form for the first time since birth and to implant English in her mind. Now Sharon Smith, codenamed Catseye, she was enrolled in the Hellfire Academy as she had no hope of passing as a normal human. She was among the group of students that were captured during a protest in 2016. Trapped in feline form, Catseye escaped during transit to the medical facility and went feral. It is only recently, after catching a familiar scent near her wildlife refuge that she began shifting back to human form and has returned to New York to try to find out what happened to her friends.

Shapeshifter: Catseye has 3 forms. Human form with cat eyes and tail as well as lavender hair. Were-cat which is larger, stronger, and covered with lavender fur. Healing factor: Catseye has a healing factor which allows her to recover swiftly from injuries, but it is not strong enough that the healing can be seen with the naked eye.

Supersenses: In all her forms, Catseye's sense are sharper than human, and in were and feline form they are as sharp as an animal's.

Mental Acuity: Catseye has a photographic memory, which she leans on to get around her lack of a formal education. Her native intelligence is genius level and she went from illiteracy to upper grade reading levels in less than a year

Superhuman Agility & Reflexes: Catseye's natural agility, balance, and coordination are enhanced to levels beyond the human body's natural limits. She could even move quickly in inverted positions. Her natural reaction time is enhanced to levels beyond the human body's natural limits. She is capable of dodging a speeding car or arrow, though not a bullet.

Razor Claws: She has razor sharp claws that can tear through flesh, bone, wood, stone, and some metals such as aluminum or steel car doors. Thicker steel such as a bank vault would be scored, not cut through and armor made by super-genius might be scratched but not seriously harmed.

Wall climbing: In feline form, Catseye can cling to walls and even ceilings.

Skills

SKILLS
Hand to hand: Catseye is trained in hand to hand combat, and is moderately skilled. She shifts to were-form to combine this with superior speed and strength to win fights.

Lie detector: Through a combination of smell and reading body language, Cateye can usually tell when she is being lied to.

Advantages

ADVANTAGES
Sharon Smith: Catseye has a legal identity and bank account in the name of 'Sharon Smith' that was set up for her by Emma Frost. This identity was never declared dead or missing, and the bank account is still active for Catseye to draw on.

Unstable Costumes: Catseye possesses outfits that can shift with her when she changes form, vanishing as she hits her fur-covered half form and reappearing as the fur vanishes. These are not easily mistaken for normal clothing, however. They either looks like a costume/uniform, or are meant to be worn under normal clothing, looking more like a leotard. Both serve the same purpose however, preventing indecent exposure when returning to human form.

Flaws

FLAWS
Abnormal Appearance: Catseye does not look normal in any of her forms. Her human form has lavender cat's eyes, unusually strong and pointed nails, lavender hair, and a tail. Her lion form has a curly mane and is lavender. Passing as human involves a wig, floor length skirts to hide her tail, large sunglasses, and nail polish all of which she hates with a passion.

Unevenly Educated: Catseye lived most of her life as a cat, and had English implanted telepathically in her mind. She can read and write, but while her reading skills are excellent, writing is difficult and English grammar does not come naturally to her. Her perfect memory allows her to recall facts on demand, and math she does quite well with, but essays have to be rewritten multiple times to make them conform to proper grammar. She is also limited to what she has been taught, read, or observed, which given her education at Hellfire Academy and Xavier Institute's gives her odd and seemingly random gaps. For example: Most pop culture from what should have been her childhood years is unknown to her, but she can quote Emily Dickinson.

No Past: Sharon Smith is a legal construct made by Emma Frost. Sharon lived from a few days after birth to her late teens as a cat. Her legal identity, school records, etc are literally paper thin.

Odd Speech: Catseye does not speak normally, her mind operating more like a cat's than a human. She can't open her mouth without her sideways-fractured grammar giving her away.

Feline: Ultimately, Catseye is Cat. She thinks like a cat. She naturally acts like a cat. Staying in human form is unpleasant, she wants to be in lion form. She wants to rub against her friends when she says hi, then sit in their lap and purr. When under stress, she shifts to feline form.
