Background

Robert Bruce Banner was born in Ohio to an atomic physicist and his wife. Despite his mother deeply loving him, his father deemed him an accident and hated how much his wife loved Bruce over him. A raging alcoholic, Bruce's father killed his mother in a fit of blind rage, causing Bruce to be placed into the care of his aunt and uncle, who gave him a proper family life. However, Bruce never truly recovered from his trauma and grew up a quiet, mild-mannered, and shy youth…but possessed a gifted mind.
Over the years, it became apparent that Bruce was one of the greatest minds in the world. His accomplishments in academia were impressive. He eventually went to college, where he earned several PhDs to establish himself as a renowned mind. Banner wanted to use his mind for science that would benefit the world, philanthropy, but was unable to get any funding. Left with no other options, he joined the thinktank of a department of defense outpost in New Mexico…where he met a General who wanted him to create weapons for the government.
Thus came the idea of a 'Gamma Bomb'.
A high- output nuclear bomb that expanded Gamma radiation, Banner personally wanted to test this weapon himself, but his intern happened to be in the blast range. Rushing to save his life, Banner pushed him out of the way — and was ground zero for the bomb. It exploded…and altered Banner on a molecular level, turning him into a massive beast of great destruction. What was deemed as the 'Hulk' destroyed the military base there and left for parts unknown. When Banner came to, he found himself on the run from the very general he worked for over the span of years, his life taken from him.
Then, the World's Mightiest Heroes came together and Banner was among their number. When talk of Registration came around, Banner directly opposed the idea, leaving the Avengers after multiple years of service wit hthe team to survive on his own yet again.
But now he has returned to the fold, perhaps to find a cure….or to return to his old ways. Who knows?

Powers

• Transformation: Due to being at dead-center of a Gamma bomb, Bruce Banner has the unique ability to transform into a hulking, rampaging, giant, green, monster of tremendous strength when he experiences anger. The transformation process can take anywhere between five seconds to five minutes, depending on if Bruce tries to resist the change. However, his transformation into the Hulk is the source and the origin of all of his abilities.
• Incredible Strength: The Hulk is indeed one of the strongest individuals in the world, capable of lifting 100 tons. He is fully able to leap over buildings in a single bound and clap his hands hard enough to perform a 'thunderclap', capable of shattering glass and pushing most things back with kinetic force, and being surprisingly effective against those with sensitive hearing. The range of the clap is roughly thirty feet. The Hulk's strength is as impressive as it is incredible.
• Dynamic Durability: The Hulk's flesh is extremely, extraordinarily dense. Not quite to the point of Invulnerability, but still possessing a high degree of resistance to physical injury. Bullets just bounce off of the Hulk's skin, blunt Force trauma just hurts, explosions -might- make him stumble, and high-energy outputs just leave scorch marks on him. However, unbreakable metals like Vibranium and Adamantium have managed to slice through his flesh. The Hulk is difficult to injure, but he still feels pain.
• Regenerative Healing Factor: Despite his resilience, its still possible for the Hulk to be damaged and injured. However, because the Hulk is pretty much a walking Gamma Reactor, the Hulk heals extremely quickly. Once ground zero for a bomb, the Hulk recovered from losing all of his skin and muscle tissue within a few minutes and even wounds that would be fatal heal within the same amount of time. It would appear that Banner's age has been affected in a way, aging visually, but the actual physical decline is much slower. He is also immune to earth-originated diseases and infections. It also appears that neither Banner or Hulk can permanently die. Banner was once suicidal and shot himself, but the Hulk merely awakened and spat the bullet out.
• Incredible Speed: The Hulk's ability to move is extremely impressive. He can swim up to 80 knots and can run up to 300mph, often being able to appear as a blur for short bursts of speed.
• Incredible Stamina: The Hulk is a walking Gamma reactor. As a result, his body doesn't produce any of the chemicals needed for exhaustion to take place and can essentially continue fighting at peak capacity indefinitely, so long as he's angry enough. However, upon reversion to Bruce Banner, Banner is often left in a weakened and exhausted state physically and mentally.
• Telepathic Resistance: For the Hulk to continue on in his form, he needs to be -angry-. The gift with that allows Hulk to be highly resistant to telepathic intrusion, due to that there's either very little mind to control or nothing at all, due to how blindly enraged he always is. While true masters of telepathy can control Hulk, they tend to be unable to control him for very long.
• Reactive Adaptation: As the Hulk, his body reacts and adapts to his environment, allowing him to survive in inhospitable environments.

Skills

• Genius: Bruce Banner is a world-renowned scientist and a super-genius in nuclear science. His intellect rivals some of the best around, even if he's not necessarily the smartest man in the world. In addition, due to his personal experience and obsession, Dr. Banner is perhaps the only true expert in radiation science, particularly Gamma radiation. In addition, Banner possesses several PhDs, including Biology, Chemistry, Nuclear Physics, Mathematics, History, Engineering, and computer programming.
• Multilingual: Both during his time on the run and his years in academia, Banner speaks multiple languages to fluency, including English, Russian, Spanish, and Hindi with somewhat complacent knowledge of Portuguese.
• Self-Restraint: As a rule, Bruce does -not- want to turn into the Hulk. The Hulk is always causing damage and always going out of control, to such an extent that it may take multiple heroes to try and pin the monster down or try to calm him. All the same, Bruce is an expert at staying calm and keeping his emotions firmly in check, knowing full well that just the smallest slip could mean disaster.
• Martial Arts: In an attempt to learn calm, Bruce practices and has mostly mastered Tai Chi.

Advantages

• Avengers: Dr. Banner is a founding member of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes. He can call on them for aid and they him.
• SHIELD: In exchange for amnesty with the US government, in liue of the many crimes committed as the Hulk, Dr. Banner provides intellectual services to S.H.I.E.L.D in defense of the homeland. In addition, Banner needs to make regular psych checks.

Flaws

• Two Minds: While Dr. Banner is a genius intellect of some of the highest order, The Hulk is….not. By way of interesting inversion, the Hulk is notoriously stupid and single-minded, being barely able to speak any words at all. It makes communication with the Hulk very difficult, for the beast has the mind of a child.
• Rage: If Banner experiences anger or intense rage, he will turn into the Hulk, a beast of destruction. There is no exception to this, hence why he tries to stay as calm as possible.
• Calm: The easiest way to defeat the Hulk is to let him calm down, which generally means getting him away from the population or allowing him to be charmed into complacency. If the Hulk calms, he'll revert back into Bruce Banner, who is often extremely weakened by the experience.
• Gasses: Gasses in large and condensed forms can overwhelm the Hulk and knock him unconscious, often reverting him back to Banner in the process. However, when extremely enraged, the Hulk is capable of overcoming this flaw.
• Not In Control: The Hulk is its own seperate entity. Very rarely does Bruce have any semblence of control. Whenever he transforms, Banner gets tossed in the back seat while the Hulk takes the wheel, so to speak. Often times, Banner has little to no memory of what happened during his time as the Hulk.
• The Cure: Banner seeks a cure for his condition, thinking it the method in which he'll have his life back. The truth is, no cure exists for his condition, which has lead him to self-destructive behavior.
