Background

BACKGROUND

When human society formed, it was deemed necessary to have angels watching the world. Various angels had different missions, and Ahadiel's was one of vengeance, smiting the wicked and punishing the guilty. After a few thousand years of such, her attention began to wane in such things. She saw the acts of beauty and creation that humans could work in their crafts, and would rather inspire that than the Fear of the Name. So, humbly, she asked her patron if she could change her role. Though surprised at the request, the Archangel granted it, transferring her to the service of the Angel of Creation, circa 500 BCE.

She spent her time throughout the world then, traveling extensively and learning about art. Inspiring no small amount of it herself, as well as leaving small momentos scattered through the ages. While she remembered the covenant struck between God and humanity, she couldn't help but interfere in small ways to try and help people where she could. Eventually, she wound up in New York City around the Roaring Twenties, setting up her studio in SoHo and settling down. The Age of Heroes arose, and she found it fascinating to witness, and she started wondering if she might be able to more overtly help others for a change…

POWERS

• Angel of Creation: As an angel of creation, Ahadiel can instinctively repair or fix just about anything that is created by man. She might not know /how/ it works, or even necessarily what it does, but if it were broken, she would know what could be done to fix it. Note that fixing it might involve esoteric parts or other things that she can't magickally conjure, but she could at least put someone on the right path.
• Angelic Might: Ahadiel can lift up to five tons of weight.
• Immortal: As an angel, Ahadiel doesn't age as mortals do, and her body is much more durable than most humans. She doesn't tire or need to eat or sleep (though she does enjoy doing so), and she also doesn't need to breathe (though it makes talking difficult otherwise.) Her vessel, or body, appears conventionally human to most scientific detection methods. However, she can withstand conventional bullets and melee weapons without being hurt. Even if her body is killed, she wouldn't be permanently slain, but rather her spirit would return to the Upper Realms… which, depending on her current activities, might mean her return could take a while.
• Flight: Angela can reveal her wings and fly at speeds of up to Mach 1.
• Tower of Babel: As an angel, Ahadiel can instinctively verbally communicate with any mortal, and will sound like she's communicating in their native tongue when speaking. This does not affect written languages.

Skills

SKILLS

• Artist: Ahadiel is a skilled artist, and has spent the centuries learning several different fields, including sculpture, painting, poetry, singing, and musical composition.
• Martial Artist: Ahadiel is very skilled in hand-to-hand combat, having picked up a variety of talents in her time observing humanity. She's no true master, but rather knows just a little bit of everything. Or almost everything.
• Jack of All Trades: Angela has been around for a long time, so quite likely has picked up skills and languages that she might not even recall right away. Of course, recalling the skills could be a bit tricky by itself (see flaws).
• Forging: Even though Angela is an expert in many fields of art through her existence over millennia, her true passion and skills are in blacksmithing and forging. She is an expert with all sorts of techniques, having worked with ancient bronze all the way to Damascus Steel and other exotic materials (though getting her hands on them is another story.)
• History: Angela has lived throughout human history, specifically the Middle East and Europe for most of her existence on Earth (forays to Japan and China occasionally aside). She's an expert in hands-on experience on living and historical events in Europe and the Middle East, though the knowledge is so deep it could take her some time to recall (see flaws).

Advantages

ADVANTAGES

• Resources: Having existed in the material world for several thousand years, Angela has built up quite a nest egg that she passes along to her "descendants" (or rather, her new alias). While she isn't wealthy by any means, she can afford to have an art studio paid for in SoHo and have few financial worries.
• Flaming Sword: Even though she is "retired" from being an Angel of Vengeance, she does still have a flaming sword. This weapon can cut through most mortal materials (unbreakable or magical items being an exception), and the flames on the weapon can psychically burn sources of supernatural evil (demons, typically) as if it was real fire, though the damage would be mental and not physical in nature.

Flaws

FLAWS

• Secret Identity: Angela keeps her identity a secret, mainly because she doesn't want to have the notoriety of being an angel known to the general public. It would raise a LOT of questions, and she really doesn't want to be the one to try and give answers.
• Too Much Experience: The problem with living on Earth for as long as Ahadiel has is that there's a lot of information crammed into her head that takes time to sort through. If she's trying to think of something specific, it can be very difficult for her. Conversely, she might see someone that reminds her of a person she met in 1785 Paris, and get sidetracked in that way.
• Supernatural Being: As an angel, Ahadiel can be summoned and bound by sorcerers that happen to know her True Name, so she's very careful not to let that slip out. Also, weapons of supernatural evil can be extra effective against her, particularly hellfire or similar works.
• Angelic Disdain: Ahadiel has a tendency to dislike "imitators" or those that would usurp the place of the name. This can include various pagan gods, and definitely includes the inhabitants of "Heven", the Tenth Realm. Though she can overcome those tendencies with time, her first instinct when dealing with those sorts is stand-offishness, at best.
